Thank you for reading my blog. This is a little way that I try to express my opinions in a long form manner on my favorite hobby - Golf!
All About Me
My name is Andrew Lavoie, and when I am not working behind a computer, walking the dog, or hanging our with my wife and newly born son, I try to get out and play golf!

I live in Columbus, Ohio (shout out Jack, but not really), but grew up in Connecticut and still have family there. Every year or so I try to travel to visit golf courses in different states, but am still trying to explore golf courses in Columbus and Ohio in general.

As it relates to my understanding of golf and golf course architecture, I would say that it is ever evolving. I have some experience in working on grounds crews part time when I was a teenager, and engage in discourse as needed. I find that there are good elements in every golf course that are positive, it is just an ever changing scale of how good it is.
Why Lateral Hazard
Behind the Name
A Lateral Hazard, such as a bunker, water, landform, or other hazard well placed on a golf hole enables a fun and strategic decision when playing a hole also with an inability to avoid the hazard. We chose this name as we find strategic golf to be the best form of golf to play and discuss.
